Hello Seattle // Mother-Daughter Trip

A few weeks ago, my mom and I took the five hour drive over to Seattle from where we live as an early birthday celebration for me, booked a hotel for the night, and spent two days exploring the city.

Isn't that girl with those sunflowers just the CUTEST? I just had to get her in a shot.

You can't visit Seattle without going to Pikes Place Market.

ALL THE FLOWERS <3

So apparently the Seattle gum wall is the second germiest attraction in the world.
We walked around the corner and the air just REEKED of gum. It was pretty disgusting.
(also if anyone ever finds out what the first germiest attraction in the world is, let me know...or maybe not. I don't know if I could stomach it.) xD

I'm pretty sure art museums are the most aesthetic places ever.

WOAH WE ACTUALLY WENT UP HERE AND IT WAS SO HIGH UP AND SO COOL AND I WISH I LIKED HEIGHTS BETTER BUT...
no. Heights and me are not friends.
Awesome experience though!

Because I'm me, one can't go anywhere without paying my respects to ALL THE BOOKSTORES.

And....
I bought a book, hehe.
ALSO IT WAS REALLY GOOD AND I RECOMMEND IT AND MAYBE I'LL DO A REVIEW FOR IT.
I cried.
I really did.

We 'accidentally' stopped at the most aesthetically pleasing place for brunch before heading home and of course I took pictures.

LOOK AT THAT.
Oh my stars that was delicious.

Well that's that!

Have you ever been to Seattle? Have you read Salt to the Sea? Should I start doing book reviews on here again?

old friends

two weeks ago we were blessed to have some of our oldest, best friends come to visit us from Oregon.
Four adults + eleven kids = fun times and memories made

I wish I could scoop up baby L and hug him right now!

Ruby gives the camera a grin

four boys from ages five to seven...hmmm, what mischief can be caused there? ;)

Isn't baby L the cutest!?!

Miss S

the only one out of twenty pictures that isn't too goofy...

see what I mean?

Miss H, Miss T, and Annah making 'books' out of old magazines

besties!

Do you have good friends who live far away?
Also, thank you all for the prayers about my wisdom teeth. The surgery went well, and I am now resting and recuperating (i.e. eating as much pudding and applesauce as possible) and am only a little sore and swollen.
Don't forget to enter the blogaversary giveaway!

Hey hey hey!!!!

my secret life (or, what it's really like to have an unlimited supply of something) + ANNOUNCEMENT

Confession time.
You probably are wondering what I meant by this post's title.
"Secret life? Is she like a spy or something?"
No. As cool as it would be, I'm not a spy, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., a movie star, or professional unicorn rider. Sorry to disappoint. 😝

In my basement, I have an unlimited supply of tea.

My family owns a looseleaf tea company, which I have been working for the past few years.
We've shipped our different flavors all over the world, and it's pretty cool.

And so here, I have some photos so you can see what it's really like to have a professional tea kitchen in your basement.

What are we making today? Oooh, Homestead Peach!

Weighing out each bag.

So do I really have unlimited access to tea? It's hard to say. Often we're running low on a blend, and I can't have one of the bags. But if we have extras, and none in our tea cupboard upstairs, I can open a bag.

Sealing the bags.

Well, there you go! It is quite a fun experience, plus its cool that to go to work, all I have to do is go downstairs! If you feel like perusing our website, you can check it out here: www.winterwoodsteacompany.com

You think I forgot about the announcement? Nope!
BIG, EXCITING POST COMING ON THURSDAY!
Trust me, you don't want to miss this!
So be sure to check out this blog first thing Thursday morning!

If you could have an unlimited supply of something, what would you want?

(oh, and what do you think of my new sign off?!?)
