I sit here, and don't know what to say.
What do I say about 2017, as we bid it farewell?
What do I say about the year that was easily the best year of my entire life?
Looking back, I am overwhelmed by many memories, but I'll spare you, and only share the best.
+I was a lioness in The Lion King Jr!
+I finished my freshman year of high school, and my first year at a 'real school' instead of homeschooling.
+I was given the History Award at our school's year end assembly.
+I attended leadership camp and was able to be an assistant counselor for four days to a cabin of ten beautiful third grade girls.
+My Uncle got married! He is the first one of any of my (nine!!) aunts and uncles to do so, and his wife , my new aunt, is an angel. Maybe I'll finally get some cousins...
+I went on a missions trip with my youth group and helped put on a VBS for a tiny rural community.
+I was baptized with my Dad and sister in a local state park!
+Tears spring to my eyes when I remember this summer. God was so REAL and so POWERFUL and so OVERWHELMINGLY NEAR, and I fell head over heels in love with him again, and have been growing so much in my faith ever since.
AUTUMN // WINTER
+Went road trippin' to Seattle with just my mom and me and had A BLAST.
+I began my sophomore year of high school.
+I turned sixteen (and got my license AAAAHHHH).
+I began serving on my theater groups student leadership committee.
+I was the assistant stage manager for A Christmas Carol.
+I got the role of Tarzan's Mother in our production of Tarzan (one of three named female parts out of a cast of EIGHTY PEOPLE OH MY STARS).
NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS
+Be more brave. Saying yes and taking risks and being vulnerable. From these pictures, you might guess that I play the uke and sing a little too. I've been thinking about posting a cover or original song on here; what do you think? Should I do it?
+Be more intentional about spending time with others. Call up a friend and take them out for coffee and just talk about life, even though little introvert me would rather stay at home by myself. I feel like this is something God is calling me to do, and although it may not be comfortable for me, it will be good.
+journal, journal, JOURNAL.
+Soak in the glory of God. Dig deeper into his word. Pray more. Trust his plans.
2017 was good to me.
God is good to me.
2018 is going to be an adventure, and I can't wait.
SO WHAT'S UP FAM?
How was your 2017?
Do you have any New Year's Resolutions?
(Should I post a ukulele cover?)
Oh hey also if any of my fellow bloggers are interested, I would really like to do a post/series where I interview another teen blogger(s). So if anyone would like to be interviewed, comment and tell me, and maybe we can hook up. ;)
Y'all were a big part of making my 2017 special.
Thank you for listening to what I have to say on my corner of the internet.
I thank God for having you guys as friends, because even though we've never met, that's what I consider you.
